City Code Compliance Division to hold information session Tuesday

The city of Cape Coral’s Code Compliance Division will host an information session on construction fraud and unlicensed contractors Tuesday, July 21, at the Tony Rotino Senior Center, 3819 Driftwood Parkway.

The presentation is scheduled from 10:3011:30 a.m.

Licensing investigator Paul Gates will discuss what residents should do to protect their home and themselves from the perils of unlicensed contractor work. Topics include:

– Contractors

– Proposals, Estimates, Contracts

– Unlicensed Contracting

– Home Repair Fraud

– Scams

– Who Can Help?

The city Code Compliance Division is also looking for volunteers. The office is seeking community-minded residents who want to assist code officers and staff with a variety of tasks.

These tasks include:

– Customer Service / Answering Phones

– Managing Email Inquiries

– Assisting with Business Tax Re-ceipts Renewals (aka Business Licenses)

– Other Administrative Assistance to Code and Licensing Staff
