This month’s roster of activities at Northwest Regional Library offers topics for all ages.

Reading to babies right from birth stimulates their minds, develops language skills and lays a foundation for later reading success. During this special storytime, you and your baby will learn new nursery rhymes and fingerplays, interact with puppets, sing, read books and dance! It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents and babies in the neighborhood.
Family Storytime

Five simple practices get kids ready to read Talking, Singing, Reading, Writing and Playing. Your whole family is invited to this enjoyable, all-ages storytime that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through songs, rhymes, fingerplays and stories.

Windell Campbell takes the audience along on an exciting journey using his voice and puppets to bring stories alive. Tickets available June 29.

A special long-running Kids Read Down Fines event. Children and teens earn a $2 credit for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $32 in four hours. Credit may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only.

Out of My Hands Juggling Show

Lights! Magic! Juggling! This interactive show features Gerard Tricarico and his astonishing juggling skills. Tickets available July 6.
Heroes: The Event of the Summer
2 p.m., Monday, July 20
Discover the powers of storybook, historical and modern day heroes at this action packed show filled with magic, music, puppets, balloon artistry and, of course, Sydney the parrot. Presented by 9th Period Shows. Tickets available July 13.

Superhero Nails

Learn the art of applying nail polish strips with a superhero twist. Our own Miss Teni will teach the technique, using superhero colors. Guys, a single thumb nail makes a statement, too. Sponsored by the Friends of the Northwest Regional Library.
Box of Lies
3 p.m., Tuesday, July 14
Is your opponent lying or telling the truth? Comedy at its best. Come join the fun.
Magic, a Slight of Hand Workshop
6 p.m., Tuesday, July 21
Professional magician James Chartier will teach you how to make things disappear, read someone’s mind, perform magic with rubber bands, perform the cut and restored newspaper trick and much more.
