Hope United Methodist Church to hold food drive for Cape Coral Caring Center
Hope United Methodist Church will be holding a food drive for the Cape Coral Caring Center to distribute this summer to local children.
Hope Church is counting on community participation to help with the project. The school year will be ending for the summer Friday, June 5, and many Cape Coral families will be struggling to feed their children without the school breakfast and lunch programs. Food provided by these programs is sometimes all the some children have to eat for their entire day.
Hope Church wants to help by collecting food donations and delivering those items to the Caring Center so that the food can be organized and packaged for those families in need.
The Cape Coral Caring Center needs the following items to fill food bags for children: cereal, oatmeal packets, Pop Tarts, peanut butter, jelly, canned pasta, soup, cracks, mac & cheese, fruit cups, pudding cups, Jello cups, snack-size raisins, granola bars, juice boxes and shelf stable milk and powdered milk.
Food donations will be collected at the church Saturdays, May 9 and 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the church, 2006 Chiquita Blvd., S., Cape Coral. The church is located just north Veteran Parkway on the west side of Chiquita.
