Smoke on the Water Barbecue Competition & Music Festival May 15-16 in Fort Myers
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center will host barbecue cook teams from across the South to compete in the Smoke on the Water Barbecue Competition & Music Festival in historic Downtown Fort Myers’ river basin on Edwards Drive and Hendry Street Friday, May 15, from 7-10 p.m., and Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m – 10 p.m.
This is a free community event.
This official Florida BBQ Association Competition includes professional teams from all across the Southeast, who will fire up their smokers for the “Grand Champion” title. As a sanctioned contest, Smoke on the Water is a qualifier for the Jack Daniels Invitational draw and the FBA’s new championship contest the Sonny’s Smokin’ Showdown Invitational .
Set to the beautiful backdrop of the downtown Fort Myers River District, the second annual Smoke on the Water Barbecue & Music Festival promises to give everyone who comes out an authentic experience of craft barbecue, beer and bands done right.
In addition to the barbecue and music, families will enjoy a kid fun zone, with arts and crafts.
Southern rock, country and blues music will keep crowds entertained. The stage will be located in front of the City Pier Building in the Fort Myers’ River District. This fun-for-whole-family event in-cludes music by the Nowhere Band Friday night and Sheena Brook, Redemption SWFL, Grayson Rogers and Unforgiven on Saturday.
Admission is free both Friday and Saturday.VIP tickets and tables are available for Saturday night which include: access to VIP tent and tables at premium location near the stage and one meal and two drink tickets to be used for beer or non-alcoholic beverages .
