Next month’s roster of activities at Cape Coral Lee County Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:

Adult Programs

Identity Theft Workshop

1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4

Certified legal investigator, fraud examiner and identity theft investigator David B. Watts will discuss warning signs, effects and strategies to prevent and cope with identity theft. Registration is required.

Craft Corner: Knitting and Crocheting

3:30 p.m., Mondays, April 6, 13, 20, 27

A casual, self-guided group of knitters and crocheters share ideas, techniques and patterns. Attendees should bring their own projects. Basic supplies available for newcomers. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Public Library. Registration is required.

Beginning Computer Skills

Part 3: 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 7

A technology instructor will cover a variety of topics including using a mouse, establishing an email account and using the library’s online resources. Registration is required.

Chess Anyone?

5:30 p.m., Tuesdays, April 7, 14, 21, 28

A venue for beginners and experts alike to rise to the chess challenge. Sets provided, but enthusiasts are welcome to bring their own. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library.

Book Discussion: “Five Days at Memorial”

Hatha Yoga

Living with the Burrowing Owls

of Cape Coral

The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will discuss how burrowing owls got to Cape Coral; their habits, habitats and predators; and how residents can preserve the official bird of Cape Coral. Registration is required.

This program is for the whole family and it lasts about 30 minutes. First come, first served.

Preschool Storytime

Preschoolers attend this storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. This storytime includes activities that require more participation and a longer attention span. Each preschool storytime lasts about 30 minutes. First come, first served.

Baby Parent Rhyme Time

10 a.m., Thursdays, April 9, 16, 23, 30

Be prepared to tickle, jump and fly with your baby! These rhymes and songs are for infants, up to 24 months, accompanied by an adult. This 15-minute program is filled with songs designed to introduce early literacy, rhyming and movement to infants.

Toddler Storytime

11 a.m., Thursdays, April 9, 16, 23, 30

Two year olds with their caregivers, participate in song, fingerplays and short stories. The success of this age group depends on adult participation and encouragement. Toddler storytime lasts about 30 minutes. First come, first served.

Trouper, The Blind Raccoon

Trouper, the blind raccoon visits the Cape Coral Library to tell his story. Calendars and books will be available for purchase. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library. Registration is required.
