14th Annual Make A Difference Day Jan. 24 at Cypress Lake Presbyterian

2 min read

The 14th Annual Make A Difference Day in accordance with the Annual National Project Linus Blanket Day will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church, 8260 Cypress Lake Drive, South Fort Myers, and everyone is invited to attend.

The mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade, washable blankets and afghans, lovingly crafter by volunteer blanketeers.

Anyone who can knit, sew or crochet is invited to join in the fun any time with one of our local groups. Matilda Wilson, Lee County Coordinator said, “Com-munity involvement is vital to the success of this project and it is hoped that as many people as possible will come and help make these blankets.”

Last year church volunteers were able to provide more than 1,203 blankets to help children in crises in the community. Project Linus services more than 15 organizations here in Lee County with blankets and would like to increase that number with the help of others like you who enjoy working with your hands.

Contributions of new yarn, cotton bright colored material and afghan filler material is always welcome. Any momentary contributions have to be in made out to our national organization as we do not have any bank account, but can give you their IRS letter.
