In celebration of this long-awaited recognition of marriage equality, the Rev. Margaret L. Beard at All Faiths Unitarian Congregation is offering free wedding ceremonies to LGBT couples Sunday, Jan. 11, from 2-6 pm.

The congregation will be decorated and cake and refreshments will be served to couples and their families and friends.

All Faiths Unitarian Congregation is at 2756 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. Please call 239-226-0900 with any questions.

In addition, the Rev. Beard will perform free wedding ceremonies at other times and will waive her fee during the remainder of the month of January.

Appointments and questions should be directed to 239-226-0900 or minister@allfaiths-uc.org.

Unitarian Universalist Congregations have a long-standing and deeply held commitment to support full equality for bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgender people, going back over 40 years to 1970. The Association of Congregations, through action of its General Assembly and congregational actions, has advocated for nondiscrimination and hate crimes legislation; its ministers have performed ceremonies of union for same-sex couples; and in 1996 delegates to the UUA General Assembly voted overwhelmingly to call for the legalization of same-sex marriage.
