2 min read

The Cape Coral High School girls’ soccer team is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness month by raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation of Southwest Florida.

Members of the Seahawks’ team will be selling pink bracelets outside of three Publix locations on Santa Barbara Boulevard Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those Publix locations in Cape Coral are:

– Santa Barbara Center

100 Hancock Bridge Parkway, W.

– Midpoint Center

2420 Santa Barbara Blvd.

– Cape Coral Landings

127 Cape Coral Parkway, W.

The bracelets will be sold for $3 each.

“Our goal this year is to raise $1,000 dollars for Susan G. Komen on Oct. 18 while also raising awareness for breast cancer and continue our commitment to this cause,” said Jamie Reimer, soccer coach of Cape Coral High School.

“We wanted to make a difference in our community and we believe that the Susan G. Komen Foundation provided that opportunity; 75 percent of every dollar donated goes to help local victims battling with breast cancer and the remaining 25 percent goes to fund research to find a cure,” Reimer said.

This is the third year in a row that the Cape Coral High School Soccer Team has raised money for Susan G. Komen and hope to continue in the future.
