Cape Christian Fellowship

This weekend Pastor Wes Furlong begins a new series “Clean Slate: Everything Changes Today” with the message “Grace plus Truth plus Time.” Contemporary worship gatherings are Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:15 a.m..

During worship gatherings, Bugz Landing is a safe and caring place for infants through Pre-K5 and Kidz Street is open for K-Grade 5 (8:30 a.m. service only provides childcare for 0-2 years old). Energy is a class for middle school students during worship gatherings each weekend.

Middle school students are invited to “Energy,” every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. High school students are invited to “Awakening,” every Wednesday from 6:30-8;30 p.m.

Cape Christian Preschool is still taking applications for enrollment. We offer educational programs for children ages 2-5. We are VPK providers, and we accept school-readiness students. For more information or to schedule a tour call 772-5781.

is hosting an open house

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church is hosting an open house to reveal the new construction of their Children’s Ministry Center and preschool, Foundations Early Learning Center, a 3,377 SF renovation and their Youth Ministry Center, a 1,700 SF renovation, recently completed by Stevens Construction.

First youth program is the recipient of a 2011 Reynold’s grant for its SAIL program (Students of Action Initiative and Leadership).

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., May 15, led by Pastor Jay Therrell. Mayor John Sullivan, Cape Coral Councilman Marty McClain, and Cape Coral Councilman Kevin McGrail will attend the ceremony and make brief remarks.

Christ Lutheran

Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Christ Lutheran, the first Church in Cape Coral, will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary on Sunday June 5th with a Special Worship Service at 10 a.m. Florida Bahamas Synod, ELCA, Bishop Edward Benoway will be presiding. All are welcome to join in this Celebration.

Christ Lutheran had its beginnings in 1960 with services, led by the Reverend Henry Dickert, being held at the Nautilus Inn. On June 4, 1961 the Church was formally organized under Reverend Everett Bunck. The 52 charter members were now worshiping at Webb’s Clothing Store in the newly built shopping mall. In 1964, ground was broken for a Sanctuary and Administration building. The present sanctuary was built in 1977. Pastor Bunch retired in 1984 and was succeeded by Reverend Richard Hafer until his retirement in 2001. Christ Lutheran is currently shepherded by Reverend Gary LaCroix.

Church financial seminar

More than one million families have been able to positively change their financial situation through Financial Peace University (FPU), the 13-week course taught by Dave Ramsey. FPU teaches families and individuals common-sense principles like how to make a plan with their money so they are able to free themselves of debt and build lasting wealth. FPU is available for churches, military, non-profit agencies, and businesses. FPU will be held in Cape Coral at: Faith Presbyterian Church located at 4544 Coronado Parkway in Cape Coral. Healing Prayer

Afghan Ministry

A Life In Christ invites all knitting or crocheting prayer warriors in Cape Coral to join our Healing Prayer Afghan Ministry Fridays from 11-1 p.m. HPA knits and crochets 6″x6″ or 8″x8″ afghan squares that are pieced together into afghans that are given away freely to the ill or grieving. Only 100% Acrylic 4-ply medium worsted weight yarn (washable, fade resistant, mothproof). Volunteers pray for the healing, comfort, financial peace and salvation of each afghan recipient.

Anyone with even beginning knitting/crocheting skills may participate. There is no cost to join, and supplies are available for volunteers to use on site. HPA meets each Friday at Cuppa Life, a coffee and sandwich shop at Del Prado Mall, in the same plaza as TJ Maxx.
