This weekend Pastor Dennis Gingerich concludes the series “Intentional Legacy” with the message “Finishing Well.” Contemporary worship gatherings are Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:15 a.m..

Easter services are as follows:

– Good Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m. (no childcare)

– Saturday, April 23, prayer and praise outdoor concert at 5 p.m.. (no childcare)

– Easter Sonrise, April 24, outdoor services at 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. (no childcare)

– Easter services at 9, 10:15, and 11:30 a.m (Full family ministry programming for infants through 8th grade)

During worship gatherings, Bugz Landing is a safe and caring place for infants through Pre-K5 and Kidz Street is open for K-Grade 5 (8:30 a.m. service only provides childcare for 0-2 years old). Energy is a class for middle school students during worship gatherings each weekend.

Middle school students are invited to Energy every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. High school students are invited to Awakening every Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Community Church

Cape Coral Communis Church, located at 811 Santa Barbara Blvd., will offer the following Easter Services.

Cape Coral First

United Methodist Church

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church will be offering the following services for Holy Week this year. Palm Sunday, April 17, services at 8:45 and 11 a.m. There will be a Maundy Thursday service on April 21, at 7 p.m., and a Good Friday service on April 22, at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. until noon, the church will be hosting its 3rd annual Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt in Veterans Park adjacent to the church.

Bounce houses, games, popcorn, candy, snow cones and an egg hunt are free for all children in the community. Join the church for a day of egg-citing fun!

DayBreak Fellowship

DayBreak Fellowship is hosting an outdoor worship service with praise band and baptisms on the beach beginning at 10:45 a.m., Palm Sunday, April 17. A free picnic with pulled pork and ribs follows the service. There will be organized games and activities for the kids. Presbyterian Church

Women of the Word is a program that brings women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. This spring season women from a variety of faith backgrounds meet weekly to study the book of 1 Corinthians.

They will continue to study an Old Testament Book in the fall.

The study meets Tuesday mornings from 9-11, or Tuesday evenings at 7 at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 701 Mohawk Parkway, Cape Coral.

There is a complete nursery and children’s program, including homeschoolers. The spring session began Jan. 11, and ends on April 19.

Easter week

at Faith Presbyterian church

Faith Presbyterian Church will observe Easter week with several special services and activities for youth and adults.

On Saturday, April 16, a Children’s Lenten Celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in Faith Center. The children will enjoy an egg hunt, games, music, crafts and the “Hands Up in Faith” puppet team. Contact Nancy Exline, telephone, 542-2858.

On April 17, Palm Sunday, Faith Ringers will play at all three worship services in the sanctuary (8:15, 9:30 and 11 a.m.). At the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services, children will process with palm branches to commemorate the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem in the days before his Passion. The 11 a.m. service will feature special music by Faith Choir. A modern service will take place in Faith Center at 9:18 a.m.

On April 21, Maundy Thursday, Pastor Timothy Halverson will lead a re-enactment of the Lord’s Supper at 7 p.m. in Faith Center.

On April 22, Good Friday, Faith Choir will provide special music for a service in the sanctuary at 7 p.m., recalling the events and suffering of Jesus in the hours before and during his trial and death on the cross.

On April 24, Easter Sunday, three identical worship services will take place in the sanctuary at 8:15, 9:30, and 11 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Halverson preaching. The services will feature Faith Choir, Faith Ringers and a brass quintet conducted by Michael Helman, Music Director. At 9:18 a.m., Pastor Tom Hafer will lead a modern worship service in Faith Center. A special ‘Kids of Faith? children?’s church service will take place at 9:30 and 11 a.m. in Fellowship Hall, adjacent to the sanctuary.

Healing Prayer

Afghan Ministry

A Life In Christ invites all knitting or crocheting prayer warriors in Cape Coral to join our Healing Prayer Afghan Ministry Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. HPA knits and crochets 6-inch x 6-inch or 8 -inch x 8-inch afghan squares that are pieced together into afghans that are given away freely to the ill or grieving. Only 100 percent Acrylic 4-ply medium worsted weight yarn (washable, fade resistant, mothproof) is used. Volunteers pray for the healing, comfort, financial peace and salvation of each afghan recipient.

Anyone with even beginning knitting/crocheting skills may participate. There is no cost to join, and supplies are available for volunteers to use on site. HPA meets each Friday at Cuppa Life, a coffee and sandwich shop at Del Prado Mall, in the same plaza as TJ Maxx.

Community Easter Services

A dozen local churches are once again organizing the Community Easter Sunrise service at City of Palms Park. The service will be at 6:30 a.m. on April 24, with the Rev. John Daugherty of First Baptist Church of Fort Myers delivering the principal sermon.
