Estate seminar

The Library System Foundation of Lee County will sponsor a free public seminar with Estate Attorney Robert Adamski at the Cape Coral Library on Tuesday, November 17, beginning at 2p.m.

In over thirty years of practicing law, Mr. Adamski has handled more than a thousand inheritance disputes, mostly among family members. For more information about the topic go to www.inheritancehijackers.com.

Gulf Middle School

Gulf Middle School’s will hold its 15th annual observance of Veterans Day on Nov. 10, beginning at 10 a.m. in the front of the school. This year’s celebration is to honor all veterans and POW and MIAs.

Student Government and Civil Air Patrol will serve as hosts for the day. The school’s band will be performing patriotic selections, student readings and speeches by invited guests. An honor table for POWs and MIA will be prominently displayed. Finally, there will be a salute firing squad and will conclude with Taps. The public is invited to attend.

Mariner High School

The Silver Magic Marching Band of Mariner High School announce they will be hosting the annual “Preview of Champions” Marching Band Competition on Nov. 14, at Tony McKenna Stadium. The competition will begin at 4:15 p.m.

There are 19 bands committed to performing at this event. Expect to see an exhibition performance by the Mariner Silver Magic Band.

The same night, West Zone middle school band students are following us for a performance of The National Anthem. Their performance at 2:50 p.m. will kick off the competition.

The cost of admission is $8. Children 10 and under pay half price.

Boating seminar

A Recreational Boating Seminar for ages 16 and older will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cape Coral Yacht Club. Pre-registration is required. The resident fee is $13 and non-residents pay $22. The Cape Coral Yacht Club is located at 5819 Driftwood parkway. To register and for more information call 574-0806.

Lake Kennedy Senior Center

Lake Kennedy Senior Center presents the following events: Gold Exchange with Diamonds by Diane on Nov. 19, from 8:30 to 12:30 p.m.

Mote Marine laboratory visit on Friday, Nov. 20. We will depart at 9:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $69 per member and $79 for all others. Enjoy lunch at the Sugar & Spice restaurant.

Clogging classes on Mondays for beginners are 11 a.m to noon, beginner plus is from noon to 1 p.m., and Intermediate classes are from 1 to 2 p.m. The cost is $6 for members and $10 for all others.

Tony Rotino Senior Center

Country Western Line Dancing is on Tuesdays. Beginning Line Dancing is from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. and Intermediate Line Dancing is from noon to 1 p.m. The cost is $3 for members and $7 for all others. The instructor is Jeanne Esposito. No partner is required and classes for all levels are offered.

Tap Classes are on Mondays. Beginners classes are from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Intermediate classes are from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. The cost is $4 for members and $8 for all others. The instructor is Marion Feldhaus.

Piano Lessons are on Saturdays from 10 to 2 p.m. Each 30 minute session is $15. Join instructor Anna Majewski on the piano. She can take you from beginner and beyond.

Afternoon Computer Classes with Sandy Musser are on Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $18 for members and $22 all others for each class

Creating Labels and Envelopes classes are on the first Thursday of each month.

Create a document of labels with the names and addresses of family and friends and use it over and over or learn to print a single envelope. Understanding Files and Folders class is on the second Thursday of each month Learn the difference between files and folders and how to organize them. Pictures, Clip Art and Graphics class is on the third Thursday of each month Using the pictures you have stored on your computer learn how to put them into a document, re-size them and move them around.

Customizing and Maintaining Windows class is on the fourth Thursday of each month Personalize your computer by creating your own background (aka Wallpaper) and screen saver and then learn to “clean-up” your computer so it runs more efficiently.

Rotary Park Environmental Center

The Rotary Park Environmental Center located at 5505 Rose Garden Road, will hold the following programs:

– Roses 101 for ages 16 and over is Nov. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $15 for Cape residents all others pay $23.

– Ghost Hunting 101 for ages 15 and over is Friday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $25 for Cape residents and all others pay $38.

– Guided tour of Yellow Fever Creek on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $5 Cape residents for Cape residents and all others pay $8.

– Girl Scout Badge class for ages 8-12 is Saturday, Nov. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $5 for Cape residents and all others pay $8.

– Beginner’s guide to kayaking is Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $25 for Cape resident and all others pay $28.

– The Trash to Treasure sale at Eco Preserve is Saturday, Nov. 14, from 8 to 1 p.m. The cost is $20 for residents and all others pay $30 .n

South Cape Street Market

Just like the markets that are so popular in Europe, South Cape is preparing for the third season of The South Cape Street Market. On the First Saturday of each month – November through April – over 70 vendors will take to Vincennes Boulevard with booths and tables offering a wide array of items.

A wide variety of craftsmen and vendors are on hand each month. From garden decor to luxury home furnishings, from one-of-a-kind handbags, purses and jackets to antique crocks and old-fashioned quilts, from scented soaps, lotions and oils to handmade pottery, there is something for everyone at the South Cape Street Market. Tom’s Traveling Tunes will be playing music.

The South Cape Street Markets run from 9 to 2 p.m. and admission is free. There is plenty of free parking in the surrounding City parking lots located in Big John Plaza, Iguana Mia and Club Square. The South Cape Street Market in only one block east of the Farmer’s Market

Cape Coral CocoNut Festival

Cape Coral CoCoNut Festival will be celebrated Nov. 13 through 15 This will include ads, entertainment, carnival games, food, contests, crafts and more. The kick-off will start Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, continue Saturday with bands and activities from noon to midnight and conclude Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Call 573-3125 for more information.

Heritance seminars

Understanding inheritance issues is the first step toward avoiding or

solving a dispute. The public is invited to attend a free seminar with Estate Attorney Robert Adamski, who has written extensively about inheritance issues in his book Inheritance Hijackers. During the session, he will address hidden threats to the inheritance of the giver and/or the receiver and how to protect that inheritance.

Cole Brothers Circus of the Stars

The Cole Brothers Circus of the Stars will be in Cape Coral for three days. Monday, Nov. 23, Tuesday, Nov. 24, and Wednesday, Nov. 25, with two shows per day at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The circus will be held at 1311 N.E. Pine Island Road (next to Mel’s Diner. Fort Myers

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a day to celebrate character and leadership. The public is invited to a special motivational presentation being offered as part of the Legacy Speakers Series by the Uncommon Friends Foundation and Hope HealthCare Services at the Burroughs Home at 2505 First Street in Fort Myers on Wednesday. The special program will feature Keni Thomas.

The program begins with a buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Color Guard presentation at 6:45 and the speaker introduction by Major General (Ret.) James L. Dozier. Thomas’s presentation will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner and program are $135. Speaker tickets only are $30. Proceeds will benefit both Hope HealthCare Services and the Uncommon Friends Foundation. To order tickets, call 656-3260.

Basket making class

This hands-on class will teach you how to make a simple basket out of grapevines just in time for Thanksgiving. The class will be held at the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve Interpretive Center on Saturday from 9:30 to noon. The fee is $10 per person 16 and older. All materials will be provided. We are Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation, a non-profit organization assisting veterans of all ages and all branches of service.

We are staging a Veterans Day Block Party on Saturday from 11 a.m to 5 p.m.
