Bike night raises more than $4K for backpack program
Harley-Davidson/Buell of Fort Myers recently hosted the first of their newly launched bi-monthly bike nights and live concerts and raised over $4,000 for hungry kids in Lee County.
Aimed at raising money for the non-profit, Blessings in a Backpack, the bike nights will alternate between the Fort Myers and Naples Harley-Davidson/Buell locations.
Blessings in a Backpack is a program designed to feed elementary school children who qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program and may not have any or enough food on the weekends.
Eighty dollars feeds a child for an entire school year.
All donations go directly to the local, Tice Elementary students.
