Happy Hour
The Cape Coral Art League announces the annual Happy Hour show with receiving on Monday, Nov. 2 from noon to 3 p.m. This show is open to all Art Council of Southwest Florida members, which is comprised of the 13 leagues of Southwest Florida. Judge and juror will be well-known Fort Myers artist, Greg Biolochini. A wine and cheese reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5 to 7 pm. The public is invited to attend. Awards will be presented at 6 pm.

Cape Coral Arts Studio
Cape Coral Arts Studio presents the following events:
– Gallery exhibit: Marcia Hopkins-York now through Oct. 30, exhibiting Her newest work “Observations of Self & World” in the Fine Arts Gallery.
– Fall classes-there is still time to sign up for classes. The next session begins Nov. 16.
– City Hall Gallery exhibits the work of Renzos Avila now through Oct. 30 in the exhibit area in the main lobby of Cape Coral City Hall.
Art Gallery
Honoring Latino/Hispanic Month, the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library Art Gallery will feature an exhibit of art works from many of our finest Latino artists from Southwest Florida. The exhibit will run through Oct. 30.
Harbour View Gallery
Harbour View Gallery welcomes Phil Hilton, watercolor painter and Beverly Fox, jewelry artist, as the October 2009 featured visiting artists.
Artwork will be on display for the month of October.
Harbour View Gallery presents the new 13-part Pink Ballet Series of Roseate Spoonbills in oil by Clare E. Candelori, Co-Owner and Founding Member Artist.

Children’s artwork
Thirty pieces of children’s artwork are now on display at the Southwest Florida International Airport. The exhibit will be displayed through December 2010 on Concourses B and D and is sponsored by the Young Artists Awards program in conjunction with the Art in Flight partnership between the Alliance for the Arts and the Lee County Port Authority.
The Young Artists Awards is a not-for-profit organization that works to benefit children from throughout Southwest Florida. One of their projects is working in conjunction with the pediatric hematology/oncology program at the Children’s Hospital.
The program delivers art supplies to the hospital throughout the year for the children to use, and then mats, frames, displays and sells selected pieces at various venues. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to a fund the Young Artists Awards created at the hospital to assist families undergoing the financial challenges of childhood cancer.
