Children’s Home Society
The Children’s Home Society is in need of a silent auction volunteer coordinator. The purpose of the volunteer is to coordinate and/or obtain items for the annual silent auction for the Child Advocate event in November of each year. The candidate must have an outgoing personality, enjoy being organized and keeping good records, and have some prior experience coordinating silent auctions or similar activities. Must be computer literate.Volunteer would be requested to give at least five hours per week and up to 10 hours per week from October through the event date and the close of all post-event activities as needed. Foundation for Lee County Public Schools
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is in need of mentors to match with high school students who have been awarded the Take Stock in Children Scholarship. The mentor commits to meet with the child during school hours two to four times a month. No tutoring is involved and basic training is provided. Guardian Ad Litem
Guardian Ad Litem is in need of volunteers. The GAL program volunteers serve as advocates for children involved in abuse, abandonment and neglect cases. Volunteers would represent children in court-ordered cases. A training and criminal background check screening are required. Clerical volunteers are also needed to provide assistance in the office.
