Alzheimer’s

The Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd. Call 437-3007 for information or to RSVP.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers support meetings will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Senior Friendship Centers, 3600 Evans Ave., Fort Myers, and at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday and Oct. 28 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 9065 Ligon Court, Fort Myers. For information, call 437-3007.

Al-Anon is an organization for family and friends of alcoholics. Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous is a 12-step program for individuals suffering from food obsession, overeating, undereating and bulimia. No dues, fees or weigh-ins. Multiple Sclerosis

NAMI Connections

NAMI Connections is a support group for adults who have been diagnosed with any mental illness. Meetings at held from 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays at Lee Memorial Hospital, Med. Room 2, Fort Myers; from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Lee Memorial Health Ruth Cooper Campus, 2789 Ortiz Ave., Fort Myers; and from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursdays at United Way House, 1150 Cultural Parkway.

Abuse Counseling and Treatment

ACT offers the following:

– Sexual assault support group: Support groups and individual counseling for adult survivors of sexual assault/abuse.

– Domestic violence: Support groups and individual counseling for adult victims of emotional, verbal or physical abuse.

Amputee Support Group

The Amputee Support Group meets once a month Thursday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fifth Floor Class Room, Fort Myers. This is a support group for recent or longtime amputees. Anyone may attend, amputees and caregivers. Anyone interested in attending can call Bob Nagle at 464-6420.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

Adult grief suport

An adult grief support group for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one through suicide meets from 6-7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at Hope Hospice Administrative Office, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers. For information, call 541-1151.

New Voice Club of Southwest Florida

The New Voice Club of Southwest Florida is a support group serving laryngectome survivors in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples. The club meets at 1 p.m. on the first Friday of each month at Lee Memorial Hospital, Medical Staff Conference Room, 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. For information, call 936-1113.

Narconon

Narconon means no-drugs or narcotics-none. It is a nonprofit, public benefit organization that is dedicated to helping people get off drugs and live productive lives. CHADD

CHADD of Lee County is a local chapter of the national organization. It provide information and support for adults, parents with AD/HD children, and educators and other interested professionals. Meetings are held from 7-9 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at Lee Memorial Hospital Auditorium, 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. School district inservice credits are available; CEUs available through Genesis Counseling of Fort Myers. A concurrent adult AD/HD support group will be investigated.
