FGCU’ Founder’s Cup

The 18th annual Florida Gulf Coast University Founder’s Cup is scheduled to be played Monday, Oct. 12, at The Club at Mediterra in North Naples.

Proceeds from the day will benefit the FGCU Foundation, which provides funds to enhance scientific, educational and athletic programs related to the mission of the university, outside the scope of regular state funding. Activities begin with an 11:30 a.m. buffet lunch at the clubhouse. Golfers begin play at 1:15 p.m. with a shotgun start on both of Mediterra’s Tom Fazio-designed championship golf courses. The Club at Mediterra is the first 36-hole course to earn Audubon International’s Silver Signature Sanctuary status. Following the tournament play, golfers will enjoy a dinner buffet and awards reception.

Registration is $1,800 per foursome and $450 for individuals. A championship sponsor level is available for $2,000 and includes a four-player team and hole sponsorship signage on the two courses. Hole sponsorships are $500 for signage on the two courses.

Event sponsors include Estero Bay Chevrolet, hole-in-one; AJAX Building Corporation, silent auction; Five County Insurance, shirts; Johnson Controls, pins; Kraft Construction, program; Service Painting of Florida, golf carts; Wayne Wiles Floor Coverings, beverage cart; and University Housing, driving range.
