Alcoholics Anonymous

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous is a 12-step program for individuals suffering from food obsession, overeating, under eating and bulimia. The meeting are held at Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Blvd., Sunday at 6:30 p.m. For information, call 338-5948 or visit: www.foodaddicts.org.

Multiple Sclerosis support group

The Multiple Sclerosis support group meets the first Sunday of each month at Cape Coral Hospital, Meeting Room A, from 3-4:30 p.m. For information, call Rick at 541-0268 or Kevin at 542-2549

The MS support group also meets at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church, 5011 McGregor Blvd., at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month. For information, call 574-4271.

Lee County Military Family Support

Lee County Military Family Support meets the fourth Sunday of every month at 3 p.m. at Bob Evans on Del Prado Boulevard. Call Barb at 214-1727 for information.

Alzheimer’s Support Group

The Alzheimer’s Support Group meetings include an opportunity for caregivers to meet others who are facing similar challenges and to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and effective coping strategies. Cape Coral meetings are held at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd. For information, call 437-3007.

Fort Myers group meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

NAMI Connections

NAMI Connections is a support group for adults who have been diagnosed with any mental illness. Meetings are held Monday at Lee Memorial Hospital in Medical Room 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ruth Cooper Campus at 2789 Ortiz Ave. in Fort Myers and Thursday at the United Way House at 1150 Cultural Parkway in Cape Coral from 3-4:30 p.m.

Abuse Counseling and Treatment

ACT offers the following support groups:

– Sexual assault support group: Support groups and individual counseling for adult survivors of sexual assault/abuse.

– Domestic violence: Support groups and individual counseling for adult victims of emotional, verbal or physical abuse.

The 24-hour hotline is 939-3112.

Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group meets the third Friday of the month at 1 p.m. at HealthPark, Room 1A. For information, call 542-7430 or e-mail aptbum@comcast.net.

Amputee Support Group

The Amputee Support Group meets once a month at the fifth floor class room at Lee Memorial Hospital. Anyone interested in attending can call Bob Nagle at 464-6420. This is a support group for recent or long-time amputees and caregivers.

After Suicide Support Group

An adult grief support group for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one through suicide. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hope Hospice Administrative Office, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers. Call 541-1151 for information.

New Voice Club of Southwest Florida

The New Voice Club of Southwest Florida is a support group serving laryngectome survivors in Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples. The club meets on the first Friday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Medical Staff Conference Room at Lee Memorial Hospital, 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers. For details, call 936-1113.
