2 min read

Southwest Florida Addiction Services is looking for some talented elementary, middle and high school students to participate in the “Every Child Is a Star Talent Show.”

It is the third year SWFAS has coordinated the talent show, which is sponsored by the Bobby Nichols Fiddlesticks Foundation.

The show will be held from 3-5 p.m. Nov. 7 at First Christian Church, 2061 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.

There are no entry fees and $75 will be awarded for first place each in the elementary, middle and high school categories.

“Talent can include anything from singing and dancing to reciting an original poem,” said Martha del Valle, SWFAS talent show coordinator. “Our goal is to provide youth with a fun, safe venue to express themselves without using or abusing alcohol, tobacco, prescription and/or other drugs.”

In addition to the talent show, the afternoon will include a silent auction of themed baskets such as movies, sports, and bath and body products.

To be eligible to participate in the talent show, participants must:

– Be between the ages of 6 and 19.

– Limit performances to no more than three minutes with no bands allow.

– Have no more than three people per act.

– Have permission from a parent or guardian to participate.

Forms and releases can be found online at: www.swfasprevention.org.

Audition entries must be received by Oct. 2 at SWFAS, 3763 Evans Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901.
