Blood pressure and blood sugar clinics

Tatalomo’s Nurses Registry will provide complimentary blood pressure and blood sugar clinics on the third Monday of each month, at Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. The clinics are free. For more information call 574-0575.

Workshop for chronic back pain

A Free Workshop for Chronic Back Pain Sufferers will be offered Tuesday,

Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in Cape Coral. Dr. James Zuk and the

Spinal Aid Centers of America introduce this medical discovery that rids back pain without drugs or surgery and it is painless. This scientific discovery is so new that it is still considered investigational but there are no pills, injections or surgery to put you at risk. It is fully approved by the FDA and research from the American Journal of Pain Management reported an 86 percent success rate with cases of Herniated Discs, Bulging Discs, Sciatica, Stenosis, Degeneration and Facet Arthrosis. There is no fee to attend, but you must call 540-7100 to register and reserve a seat.

Paradise Tiki Hut

The Paradise Tiki Hut plans to hold, Tribute to a Soldier, benefits every Wednesday, now through Nov. 4, with the presentation at ECO Park on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11.

In August, there will be crab races. September features “Price is Right” and October, “Golf Tiki Style.”

Proceeds from specials during the events will benefit the local Tribute to a Soldier campaign.

Volunteer Fair

A Volunteer Fair will be held Saturday, August 29, at the Shell Factory in North Fort Myers. All individuals interested in volunteering can come and meet with area agencies to find the best fit for their service. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Party House at the Shell Factory. Tri-County Blood Drive

Chick-fil-A has partnered with several of Florida’s blood centers to provide a Tri-County Blood Drive.

Lee, Collier, and Charlotte County Free Standing Chick-fil-A restaurants will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 to 3 p.m. Each donor receives a free Chick-fil-A sandwich and becomes a hometown hero.

Autism Awareness Night at the Charlotte Stone Crabs Charlotte Sports Park, Saturday, Aug. 22. First pitch at 7:05 p.m. Featuring post game fireworks. The $12 cost gets you: one reserved seat; free Stonecrabs hat; a portion of the proceeds benefiting Autism Speaks.
