Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library

This month the Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library welcomes three artists with different art.

Mary Widmer moved from Illinois to Florida when her husband retired. In 2001 she took her first art course at Edison Community College and was on her way. She has exhibited in art leagues, Arts for ACT, Big Arts and others.

Ann Harrison May was born without arms and has learned to use her feet for everything else. She feels expressing art is allowing the body and soul to connect with the spirit within life. She wants to bring out the bright and brilliant colors of the art world. May has been in social work most of her adult life and her love for the arts has led her to work with the disabled. She is a member of the Mouth and Foot Painting Association and through them her work is sold internationally.

Cynthia McIntyre calls her funky art “bunkyworks.” It is colorful, quirky glass pieces that range from rainbow-striped plates to jewelry. Bunkyworks at Riverside Park is home to her used glass art studio.

The Art Gallery is sponsored and funded by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library. It is open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library is located at 921 S.W. 39th Terrace. For information, call 542-3933 or (TYY) 542-4429.
