July programs at the Cape Coral Library

3 min read

“Be Creative at Your Library” promotes continuous reading during the summer. SRT events, such as puppet shows, animal shows and more, are free for children age 6 and older, but tickets are required and can be picked up at the Cape Coral Library.

For teens in middle and high school, “Read it! Watch it! Win it!” introduces teens to a host of recreational and education opportunities and involves them in crafts, game nights and many more entertaining events.

There are dozens of programs for children, teens and adults at the 11 Lee County libraries available to all. Pick up the July/August library calendar at the library, or go online at www.leegov.com/library For more information.

The Art Gallery at the Cape facility is sponsored and funded by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library. This month the Friends continue to welcome art from David Acevedo, who has been expressing his own mind in images since he was strong enough to hold a pencil and piece of paper. This year Acevedo was awarded the New Visual Artist of the year at the Alliance of the Arts Award Show.

Ralph Del Coro will display his “eggery” a collection of special “eggs” that have to be seen to believe.

Also exhibited this month will be the jewelry of Beverly Taht of Cape Coral and Beth Iens of Fort Myers who will show their very affordable custom made jewelry. If anyone didn’t have a chance to view this exhibit, it will remain at the library through July.
