Junior League adopts needy students in Lee
The Junior League of Fort Myers donated $1,000 to the Multicultural Centre of SWFL to adopt 100 Lee County students in need.
More than 2,000 Lee County elementary school students in grades K-5 will receive new backpacks, school supplies, and food at the Multicultural Centre of SWFL’s 10th Annual Back-To-School Festival & School Supply Giveaway.
The event will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 11am to 3pm at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers. The first 2,000 kids will receive free backpacks and supplies or while supplies last.
The event is open to the public at no cost. Everyone who attends the event will enjoy entertainment on the main stage, kids activities, face painting, bounce house, inflatable slide, education, giveaways, and a great deal more.
“We are very thankful to the Junior League of Fort Myers for supporting students in need at our 10th Annual Back-To-School Festival,” said Connie Ramos-Williams, event chair.
