Icabod’s and Woman’s Life are teaming up to sponsor the first Annual “Brunch For Backpacks” & Silent Auction Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to noon at Icabod’s Restaurant in Fort Myers.

All of the proceeds from the brunch and silent auction will provide new backpacks and school supplies to local kids in need at the Multicultural Centre of SWFL’s 10th Annual Back-To-School Festival & School Supply Giveaway, which will be held at Harborside Sunday, Aug. 2, from 11a.m. to 3 p.m.

Woman’s Life and Icabod’s hope the event will raise enough money to provide more than 250 Lee County elementary school kids in need with new backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming 2009/10 school year.

“We are so appreciative to have the generosity of the community, Icabod’s and Woman’s Life to help us get closer to this year’s goal of helping 2,000 kids in need,” said Connie Ramos-Williams, event chair.

The cost to attend the brunch is a $20 tax deductible donation, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting local kids in need. The brunch will include french toast, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, sandwich wraps, and an assortment of other good food and drink. The silent auction will include items such as spa and salon treatments, theater tickets and golf foursomes.

Seating is limited and reservations are required. To RSVP for the “Brunch For Backpacks,” contact Connie Ramos-Williams at Conric4u@aol.com or 239-848-0239.

Icabod’s Restaurant is located on 13851 South Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers.
