Lake Kennedy Senior Center
Lake Kennedy Senior Center, located at 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. presents the following events:
Thursday, May 21, a tour to Solomon’s Castle in Ona. Cost is $65 per person for members and $75 per person for non-members. Leave the center at 8:45 a.m.
Friday, May 29, T.G.I.F. Dance from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Bring beverages and snacks or enjoy our refreshment area. Ice and cups will be available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $4 per person for members and $8 per person for non-members.
Friday, June 5, at 1 p.m. the 19th Annual Community Hurricane and Storm Seminar will be held in the grand ballroom. Jim Reif from ABC 7, Bill Van Heldenl, Fire Chief with Emergency Management, Rob Petrovich, Cape Coral Chief of Police, David Saniter Lee County Emergency Program Planner with the American Red Cross of Lee County, Florida Dept. of Financial Services.
The event is open to the public at no charge, but a canned food item is requested to be donated to the Cape Coral Caring Center.
Friday, June 12, spend a day aboard the StarLite Majesty Hawaiian Luau Luncheon Cruise in Clearwater. Leave the center at 8:30 a.m. (arrive by 8:15) Cost $72 per person for members and $82 per person for non-members.

Sunset Celebration
Celebrate the sunset Florida-style on Wednesday, June 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., at the beach and enjoy live music with David Barbe, aka “The Flamingo Kid.” Food and drink specials will be available at at KC’s Riverstop and over 40 vendors will be selling their arts and crafts, jewelry, gift items and more.

Fort Myers
Authors Evening Series
The Southwest Florida Museum of History announces a special additional author for this season as part of the Authors Evening Series. On May 20, at 7 p.m. author Estela Delgado shares the debut of her book, Hidden Souls, (Almas Escondidas). She is also the author of the famed poem, “The Lord is My King” which was adopted to music for “Hands Across America” 2005 Volume 14 of New World Studios.
The evening includes coffee, Latin fare from Mimi’s Caf, dessert from Mason’s Bakery, the featured author presentation, a meet-and-greet book signing and admission to the Museum, all for just a $10.

Parade of plants
A parade of plants presentation will be made by Master Gardener trainees on May 29 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at Lee County IFAS Extension, 3406 Palm Beach Blvd., Fort Myers. The event features 16 plants including tough natives, bloomers, and fruits and vegetables.

Ugliest Bridesmaid’s Dress Contest
The Wedding Singer at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre and Bob FM 102.9 an invitation to enter The Ugliest Bridesmaid’s Dress Contest. The Wedding Singer is playing through June 6 at Broadway Palm.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Broadway Palm Children’s Theatre presents The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe which continues May 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 31..
Broadway Palm Children’s Theatre presents full-scale productions that are great for all ages. All performances begin with a buffet at noon and show time at 1 p.m. (except where indicated, lunch is at 10:30 a.m. and the show is at 11:30 a.m.) Ticket prices for lunch and the show are only $15 for all ages. English Country Dancing
Learn the social dances of the 17, 18 and 19 centuries. Partners are not necessary and beginners are welcomed. Lessons are held Tuesdays from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. at the Wa-ke Hatchee Recreation Center at 16355 Summerlin Road in Fort Myers. Matlacha Pass kayak tour
Mangrove Mazes of Matlacha PassKayak Tour with GAEA guides, a guided kayak nature tours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet at Randell Research Center, 4130 Pine Island Road. Visit the mangrove mazes and tunnels of Matlacha Pass. The cost is $50 per person. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 694-5513.
Free beach walks
Take an educational walk through Matanzas Pass Preserve and Bowditch Point Park with a naturalist.
Bowditch Point walks are every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., 50 Estero Blvd. Fort Myers Beach. Free with paid parking.
Matanzas Pass preserve walks are every Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Meet at the Historic College near the entrance of Matanzas pass reserve at the end of Bay Street off Estero Boulevard, on Fort Myers Beach. Limited free parking is available.
Native plants and more on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.. Venture down a path through a hardwood hammock to Ester Bay and discover a barrier island’s barside community at Matanzas Pass Preserve.
