Cape Coral Arts Studio

Spring mini class session today-June 8. Register early for classes in the fine arts and fine crafts for adults and youth classes. Supplies for all classes can be purchased in the supply store.

Cape Coral Art League

The Cape Coral Art League, 516 Cultural Park Blvd., announces its children’s summer program. Three classes being offered are:

– Lois Johnston will teach multi-media classes for ages 7-12 from 10:30 a.m.-noon Tuesdays. The class will provide a taste of different types of art projects.

– Christy Ward will teach arts and crafts for ages 7-12 from 10:30 a.m.-noon Thursdays.

– Christy Ward will teach a drawing class for teens from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Class fees are $40 monthly. There may be a small supply cost that will be applied to daytime classes depending on the projects. Inquiries should be made to 772-5657, or to Christy Ward at (609) 214-9879.

Painting raffle

The Rotary Club of Cape Coral will hold a drawing July 5 for a piece of Roy Schallenberg’s artwork, valued at $1,500. Raffle tickets are $5 with a limited number being sold. Harbour View Gallery

Free theater shows

More Crinoline Productions and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center will offer free theater during Art Walk to keep visitors coming downtown for the arts. All of the shows will begin at 7 p.m. and will run 20-30 minutes. Accepted donations will cover the costs of the production and the restoration of the center. The one-act shows include:

– June 5: “Sure Thing.”

– July 3: “Variations on the Death of Trotsky.”

– Aug. 7: “Swan Song,” an adaptation of Chekhov’s.

‘Creative Students Unleashed’

Harborside Event Center presents “Creative Students Unleashed,” in conjunction with the Community Art Showcase. The exhibition, featuring works by talented Lee County high school students, runs today-June 10. It is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers. Lee County Alliance for the Arts

The Lee County Alliance for the Arts’ May exhibition features Jonathan Kane, a photographer whose work features human figures mobilized by digital manipulation, black and white originals and unique self-portraits. HOWL Art Gallery

HOWL Gallery presents a new art show, entitled “Retro Pop – Comic Book Inspired Paintings by Andy Howl.” Opening reception is from 7-10 p.m. Saturday.
