‘Fairy Tales & Pixie Dust’

Mother’s Day Weekend Flower Walk

The Mother’s Day Weekend Flower Walk will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Shoppers are invited to visit select gift shops, jewelry stores and clothiers as they search for the perfect gift for their mother. At each participating store, shoppers will be given a long stem rose. The roses come in different varieties and by the time the shopping is done, participants will have a fresh, bright bouquet to enjoy. The event and stores will offer discounts and special treats. First Edible Garden

First Edible Garden, installed by Green Coaches, will be at 3815 Palm Tree Blvd. Santiago De Choch, owner of Green Coaches, is looking forward to installing more of the vegetable gardens throughout the area. Stop by and have a look. For information, call 839-1239.

Tea dance

The Southwest Florida Chapter of USA Dance will host its monthly tea dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Rhythm in Motion Dance Academy, 3333 Del Prado Blvd. The first hour will be a lively Samba lesson, followed by general dancing, socializing, refreshments and fun. Basic skills and seamanship class

Fashion show

The Guardian Angels for Special Populations will hold a fashion show, presented by Belk’s, from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. May 16 at Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. Tickets are $20 per person. Lake Kennedy Senior Center

Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd., presents:

– Clogging classes will be held from 11 a.m.-noon and noon-1 p.m. Mondays for beginners and 1-2 p.m. Mondays for intermediates. Cost is $6 for members and $10 for non-members.

Cape Coral Yacht Club

Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5817 Driftwood Parkway, presents:

– Wednesday: Sunset Celebration. Live music by Smokin’ Bill. Classic and muscle cars from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s. Food and drink specials at KC’s Riverstop. More than 40 vendors selling arts and crafts. Free event.

– Sunday: Mother/Daughter Day from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Celebrate Mother’s Day at the pool. There will be refreshments, a couple of beauty vendors, Mary Kay and Saci Mobile Nails.

– May 14: “How to Find Fish,” with Capt. George Howell, from 7-9:30 p.m Cost is $20 for residents and $22 for non-residents.

– Swimming lessons will be held weekdays or Saturdays, call for dates and times, each month. Each session includes eight classes. Cost is $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents.

Rotary Park Environmental Center

Rotary Park Environmental Center presents:

– Saturday: Guided paddle of Eco Reserve from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $35 for residents and $38 for non-residents.

– May 15: Florida Yards & Neighborhoods program from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $5 for residents and $6 for non-residents. The program is for anyone interested in having a yard that is environmentally friendly. Registration is required.

– May 16: Trash to Treasure Outdoor Flea Market from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $20 per space.

– May 16: Matlacha Pass Aquatic Preserve paddle at Sirenia Vista from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $20 for residents and $22 for non-residents.

– Free trial yoga/zumba classes from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 5:30-6:45 p.m. Mondays. Bring a yoga mat if planning to participate or just come to watch.

– Cape Coral Environmental Parks Society meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Tuesday of the month. The society is seeking volunteers who love nature and would like to work to improve parks through environmental education and special projects.

Fort Myers

Guided nature walk

A guided nature walk of Hickey’s Creek Mitigation Park will be held from 9-11 a.m. Thursday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Participants should be able to walk approximately two miles. Kayak tour
