Mayor’s Scholarship banquet

The 23rd Annual Awards Banquet for the Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund, will be Wednesday at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5819 Driftwood Parkway in Cape Coral.

This year, sponsors will present scholarships to 13 students from several local high schools. The students earned these scholarships through a combination of academic achievements and community service efforts throughout their scholastic years. The Honorable Mayor James D. Burch will be the Master of Ceremonies for this prestigious event.

The main funds each year are acquired in the form of scholarships donated by our generous sponsors; however, the Awards Banquet is financially supported by fund-raisers held throughout the year. In December 2008, our Wine and Cheese Reception was sponsored by The Cape Coral Community Foundation. In February, “A Night at the Theatre” at Cultural Park Theatre was sponsored by EMBARQ and assisted by the Cape Coral Scholarship Fund Board of Directors. Listed below are this years scholarship sponsors.
