Boys & Girls Club receives $5,000

2 min read

To honor its commitment of giving back to local communities, BJ’s Wholesale Club, its Members and its Vendor Partner Procter & Gamble announced today that they have donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Myers (Shady Oaks Unit). The grant will support Power Hour, the Club’s homework and tutoring program, designed to raise the academic proficiency of Boys & Girls Club members ages 6-12. Throughout the month of March, when BJ’s Members purchased selected P&G products, a portion of the proceeds benefited this important effort.

“Having a community partner and such a wonderful organization like BJ’s Wholesale Club supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs movement here on a local level is such a wonderful thing. Knowing that the community has made the effort to help support our program is such a wonderful feeling. The money that BJ’s will be donating to our club will go to help support our education program called power hour. It is an hour dedicated for each child to focus on their homework, class projects along with educational games and activities,” said Aaron Haack, Unit Director from the Shady Oaks Boys & Girls Clubs Unit.
