Local Publix stores raise nearly $20,000 for charity
Publix Super Markets and their customers and associates raised nearly $20,000 through a six-week Food for All program.
Customers were offered the opportunity to select $1, $3 or $5 donation coupons at the register as they were checking out and their selected coupon was scanned and added to their final grocery bill.
This month, Harry Chapin Food Bank received funding from the program.
“The Food for All program gives our customers and associates a chance to work together to support an excellent cause,” said Shannon Patten, Media and Community Relations manager. “We are so pleased to be able to assist organizations that are working so hard to reduce hunger in our local community.”
Since 1988, Publix Super Markets Lakeland division has partnered with Food for All to run this fund-raiser. To date, the local stores have raised almost$3 million for local anti-hunger organizations.”
