Art Gallery, sponsored and funded by the Friends of the Cape Coral Library, will feature three artists this month:
Skip Weber, retired detective lieutenant from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey, holds a bachelor degree in criminal justice from Rutgers University and began sketching at an early age and began watercolor painting after retirement. He is mostly self-taught and has taken classes and workshops at the Cape Coral Art Studio, Cape Coral Art League and Pine Island Art Association. In recent art shows he has won three blue ribbons, a second and third place ribbon and a People’s Choice award for his watercolors.
Harbour View Gallery May visiting artists
Nancy Green, fused glass artist, and Patty Sole, oil and acrylic painter, are the May 2009 featured visiting artists at the Harbour View Gallery located at 5789 Cape Harbour Drive, Unit 104 at the Marina at Cape Harbour in Cape Coral.
An opening exhibition wine and cheese reception will be held at the gallery on May 5 from 6 to 8 p.m.The reception is open to the general public.

Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center
More Crinoline Produc-tions and the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center to be offering free theater during Art Walk to keep residents and visitors coming downtown for the arts during the summer and also during this challenging economic time.
All of the shows being produced will begin at 7 p,m, and will run between 20 and 30 minutes. Donations will be gratefully accepted and will go to cover the costs of the production and the restoration of the historic Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center. Following are the one-act shows and their production dates:
May 1 – This Property is Condemned
June 5 – Sure Thing
July 3 – Variations on the Death of Trotsky
August 7 – (adaptation of Chekhov’s) Swan Song

Alliance of the Arts events
May exhibition features Jonathan Kane, a photographer whose work features human figures mobilized by digital manipulation, black and white originals, and unique self portraits. Opening Reception will take place May 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Alliance gallery, on the corner of Colonial and McGregor.
The Alliance of the Arts and Theatre Conspiracy announce that Theatre Conspiracy will be returning to the Foulds Theatre in May. It will open a production of “Mom’s The Word,” a comedy on May 22, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 or $10 for students with ID and can be reserved by calling 936-3289.
The Alliance galleries are open from 9 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. It is located at 10091 McGregor Boulevard just south of Colonial Boulevard. Visit: www.art-inlee.org for more details.
Register your choir to perform in the, Singing to the Highest Praise Choir Event. Registration began April 12. This event will be held at the Alliance for the Arts, on June 13.
