Lee County Justice Center Complex

The Lee County Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking volunteers to assist with the operation of the public information desk at the Lee County Justice Center Complex, 1700 Monroe St., Fort Myers. The volunteer opportunity is for anyone interested in meeting people and learning about the local court system. Volunteers are needed to greet visitors and provide general information to assist the public in finding courtrooms, departments and government offices. Orientation will be provided along with reference materials and a tour of the complex to see firsthand what exists and where everything is located. Habit for Humanity of Lee County

Habit for Humanity of Lee County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing by building decent and affordable homes for deserving families, is in need of volunteers. Opportunities include construction of various tasks, assistance in the thrift stores, mailings and office assistance. Contact the Friendship Volunteer Center at 275-4427 for details.

Lee County Library System

The Lee County Library System is in need of volunteers. Opportunities are available, and may vary, at all library locations and service units. Volunteers serve as computer coaches, book shelvers and menders, clerical helpers, special events assistants and other responsibilities as needed. Senior Friendship Centers

The Senior Friendship Centers needs a retired volunteer nurse to assist four hours a week at a new health and wellness program at Hatton Rogers Residential Facility in North Fort Myers. Duties to include patient intake and screening, assisting physicians, and assisting and answering patient questions. Also, referring patients to local resources and training other volunteer staff.
