Lake Kennedy Senior Center
Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd., presents:
– Thursday: Journey north to see the Original Hermann’s Royal Lipizzaner Stallions of Austria in Mayaka City. Arrive at the center by 10:45 a.m. and leave at 11 a.m. Return by 6:30 p.m. Cost is $59 for members and $69 for non-members.
– May 12: A trip to visit Belleview Biltmore Resort in Clearwater. Trip includes a historical tour of the resort, along with lunch at the Magnolia Room. Leave from the center at 8:45 a.m. Cost is $69 for members and $79 for non-members.
– May 15: Cahlua & Cream dinner show at 7 p.m. Cost is $22 for members and $32 for non-members.
– May 21: A tour to Solomon’s Castle in Ona. Leave the center at 8:45 a.m. Cost is $65 for members and $75 for non-members.
– Quickie Jewelry Crafting with Lynda Lea from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesdays. First class is $14 for members and $18 for non-members. Supplies included.
– New dimensions inline dancing with Aida Pineda from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Cost $3 for members and $7 for non-members.
– Clogging classes will be held from 11 a.m.-noon and noon-1 p.m. Mondays for beginners and 1-2 p.m. Mondays for intermediates. Cost is $6 for members and $10 for non-members.

Best of Cape Coral Winners Celebration
The Best of Cape Coral Winners Celebration will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at Anthony’s On The Blvd., 1303 Del Prado Blvd. S. Reservations must be made by today. Call Stephanie Struense at 829-1145.
Nautical flea market

2009 Golf Classic
The 2009 Golf Classic, hosted by the Cape Coral Community Foundation, will be held May 1 at Palmetto Pine Country Club. Last year’s tournament had a sold-out course of 144 players.
Cape Coral Yacht Club
Cape Coral Yacht Club, 5817 Driftwood Parkway, presents:
– Swimming lessons will be held weekdays or Saturdays, call for dates and times, each month. Each session includes eight classes. Cost is $50 for residents and $55 for non-residents.

Annual Southwest Florida Seafood Fest
The Matlacha Mariners 8th Annual Southwest Florida Seafood Festival, which for the first time will include a classic and custom car show, will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday at the German American Social Club.
Fort Myers
Rain barrel workshop
A Florida Yards and Neighborhoods rain barrel workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Rutenberg Park, 6490 South Pointe Blvd., Fort Myers, taught by Lee County Extension master gardeners. Learn how rain barrels can collect water from a roof. Fifty-five-gallon recycled barrels will be transformed into rain barrels during the class that can be take home. Cost is $35 per barrel. Earth Day walk
A guided nature walk will be held from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday at Caloosahatchee Regional Park, 18500 North River Road, Fort Myers, with park staff. See firsthand the plants and animals that make Southwest Florida so unique. Participants should be able to walk approximately 1 1/2 miles. Dress appropriately and bring a water bottle. ‘Singing to the Highest Praise’
Choirs can register to perform in “Singing to the Highest Praise” choir event, to be held June 13 at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts.
