Fishing event for special needs

1 min read

Volunteers from Collier, Lee and Sarasota counties are sponsoring a free morning of fishing from 9 a.m.-noon April 25 for citizens with special needs.

This is in conjunction with a “Day of Service” being held across 11 southern states, involving more than 400,000 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The community is invited to bring their special needs child or adult family members to join in the fun.

The Lakes Regional Park is waiving all entrance fees for those participating in the event.

Fishing equipment and refreshments will be supplied. No fishing licenses are required.

All participants must be accompanied by a parent, staff or legal guardian.

The church will provide a T-shirt with the event logo, “Reel Fun-Real Friends,” to all special needs attendees.

Participants must register at: www.reelfunrealfriends.org.
