The Matlacha Mariners 8th Annual Southwest Florida Seafood Festival, which for the first time will include a classic and custom car show, will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. April 25 at the German American Club.

Rain barrel workshop
A Florida Yards and Neighborhoods rain barrel workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. April 25 at Rutenberg Park, 6490 South Pointe Blvd., Fort Myers, taught by Lee County Extension master gardeners. Learn how rain barrels can collect water from a roof. Fifty-five-gallon recycled barrels will be transformed into rain barrels during the class that can be take home. Cost is $35 per barrel. Earth Day walk
A guided nature walk will be held from 2-4 p.m. April 22 at Caloosahatchee Regional Park, 18500 North River Road, Fort Myers, with park staff. See firsthand the plants and animals that make Southwest Florida so unique. Participants should be able to walk approximately 1 1/2 miles. Dress appropriately and bring a water bottle. Two-step lesson and open dancing
Learn or review two-step dance at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Aki’s Dance Studio, 6300 Metro Plantation Road, Fort Myers. The affair starts with a beginner two-step lesson followed by open dancing with two-step, West Coast swing, waltz, cha cha, hustle and more. Cost is $10 per person. Bring food, snacks and drinks. Burroughs home

Donations needed
Lee County Animal Services has a great need for cat food and cat litter to stock the agency’s community pet pantry. Owners who need assistance may contact Lee County Animal Services at 533-7387 to be placed on an approved list to receive pet food. Anyone who can assist by donating pet food, especially cat food, cat litter or other pet products, may bring them to the shelter at 5600 Banner Drive in Fort Myers. Donations may be left at the door if the shelter is not open.
