Cape Coral

Annual Easter Bunny Trail

Greenwell’s Bat-A-Ball & Family Fun Park, 35 Pine Island Road, will host its 18th Annual Easter Bunny Trail from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday. The Easter Bunny is expected to make an appearance. The event is free and open to children 12 and under. Those attending are asked to bring their own baskets. For information, call 574-4386.

‘Into the Woods’

Ida S. Baker High School presents “Into the Woods” at 7 p.m. April 24 and 2 p.m. April 25 at 3500 Agualinda Blvd. Tickets are $3 for children and senior citizens, $5 for students and $7 for adults. Tickets will be sold at the door. For information, call 458-6690 or e-mail Emilylp@leeschools.net.

Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library

Children’s Day/Book Day is officially observed April 30, but the Lee County Library System has scheduled a week of activities leading up to the day of the observance.

Celebrate literacy for children of all cultures in recognition of El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate in activities on the internationally celebrated day honoring children, books and bilingual literacy.

Participe en la celebracion internacional de afabetizacion juvenil con El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros. Toda la familia esta invitada a participar en actividades en este dia en el que se celebran internacionalmenta la ninez, los libros y la alfabetizacion bilingue.

El dia de los ninos/Eldis de los libros se celebra universalmente el 30 de abril pero el Sistema bibliotecario del condado de Lee ofrecera actividades previas a la celebracion oficial.

Spring Break Yacht Club Adventure Camp

The Spring Break Yacht Club Adventure Camp, for ages 8-12, will be held from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today-Friday. The camp will have kayaking, tennis, fishing, swimming, beach tennis, basketball and more. There will be three surprise trips planned during the week. Resident fee is $110. Non-resident fee is $125.

Peer to Peer class

A Peer to Peer class begins Monday at United Way House, 1105 Cultural Parkway. It will be held from 6-8 p.m. each Monday through June 1. Today is the last day to register. For information or to register, call NAMI at 337-9024.

English tutors

Learn to teach English to an adult who speaks another language by signing up for a tutor training session with Literacy Volunteers of Lee County, a nonprofit agency that provides free adult literacy programs with the help of trained volunteers. A training session will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. April 18 at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 2507 Del Prado Blvd. A $30 fee is requested to cover the cost of the materials. Scholarships are available. Senior tutors

Senior volunteers 60 years or older are needed for tutoring in elementary schools. A stipend and mileage reimbursement is provided for those who qualify. For information, call Joan at the Dr. Piper Center at 332-5346.

BIS classes

The BIS class schedule is as follows:

– April 24: Computer skills, a career transition workshop, from 9 a.m.-noon. Cost is $45.

Fort Myers

FGCU

The Bower School of Music presents the “Chamber Singers in Concert,” an evening of traditional choral music, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Student Union Ballroom. The concert is free and open to the public. For information, call Nancy Cobb-Lippens at 590-7374.

Evangelical Christian School

Evangelical Christian School’s Early Education Center is expanding its preschool program to include a part-time preschool program. AEEC is accepting applications for the part-time program; limited space is available. Children entering the 3-year-old program will enjoy a five-day week from 7 a.m.-noon.

Annual Respect for Law Camp

The Fort Myers Police Department is accepting applications for the 20 year anniversary of the Annual Respect for Law Camp, scheduled June 19-21 at Dunbar Middle School, 4750 Winkler Ave. Ext.

The three-day, two-night camp is open to children ages 11-14. Enrollment is limited to the first 120 to apply. Cost is $50 and includes instruction, food and lodging. To register, an application must be completed with a check or money order attached that is made out to “Respect for Law Camp.”

Renaissance Academy

Youth camps

The museums have teamed up to offer a variety of camp sessions this year during school holidays, spring break and the summer for kindergartners through seventh-graders. Girls Going Places

Girls Going Places is gearing up for its May 6 event. The program identifies the most enterprising, community-minded teen girls in Southwest Florida who will compete to win national scholarships and prizes. School counselors and principals must have their nominee forms submitted to Lynne Tarman at Alliance Financial Group, 14021 Metropolis Ave., Fort Myers, by Wednesday to be included.
