Dancing with Danger
Dancing with Danger, a fund-raiser for Gulf Coast Humane Society, will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at Sanibel Community House, 21763 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Enjoy an evening with open dancing, hors d’oeuvres and performances by the students and staff of Rhythm in Motion. For tickets and information, call 542-3500.

AFCAAM Charity Classic golf tourney
AFCAAM announces that its sixth annual Charity Classic golf tournament will be held April 17 at Old Corkscrew Golf Club in Estero.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. on the Jack Nicklaus signature designed course. Following the scramble tournament, participants will enjoy dinner and an awards reception.
Registration is $600 per foursome, and the registration fee for an individual player is $150.
Prizes will be awarded for the first three places for both men’s and women’s teams. Other prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive.
Golf related, travel and other raffle prizes also are being solicited and other sponsorships opportunities are available for local businesses.
Proceeds from the tournament benefit AFCAAM, a non-profit organization working in the African-American community of Fort Myers to promote self-reliance and human dignity through the communication of Christian values.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club opened for play in February 2007. It is the winner of the 2008 Florida Golf Course of the Year award by the National Golf Course Owners Association, has been recognized by Golf Digest magazine on its prestigious list of America’s Top 10 Best New Courses, listed as a Best Course Near You by Golf Magazine and it has been certified by Audubon International as a Signature Sanctuary golf course.
