LMHS hosting nursing conference in April
Lee Memorial Health System (LMHS) is holding the 4th Annual Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Conference “Vigilance Through Compassion and Competence” – on Wednesday, April 15 at HealthPark Medical Center. Health care professionals and students are invited to attend this one-day conference as part of a global effort to expand the understanding and use of research-based evidence to produce the best patient outcomes.
“Evidence-based nursing practice combines the results of scientific research and the experience of the nurse as well as patient’s preferences to determine care of each individual,” said Susan Torres, MSN, RN, BC, Nursing Director Neuroscience/Neuro Stepdown with Lee Memorial Health System.
The LMHS Foundation and Nursing Research Council sponsored conference is approved for 6 contact hours of continuing education through the Florida State Board of Nursing.
The keynote address “Great expectations: Roles and Responsibilities for evidence-based Practice” will be presented by Mary Lou Sole, PhD., RN, CNNS, FAAN, Professor with the University of Central Florida and Clinical Nursing Scientist with Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Also presenting are nationally known speakers Linda Mayberry RN, PhD, FANN, Kathleen Bartholomew RC, RN, MN and John J. Nance JD as well as presentations from LMHS teams.
Selected evidence-based practice project posters will also be displayed.
