Painting raffle

The Rotary Club of Cape Coral will hold a drawing July 5 for a piece of Roy Schallenberg’s artwork, valued at $1,500. Raffle tickets are $5 each with a limited number being sold. Cape Coral Arts Studio

Spring classes for adults and youth will be held today-April 25. Register early. Supplies for all classes can be purchased at the studio supply store. A student discount is available. Cape Coral Library Art Gallery

The Cape Coral Library Art Gallery presents Dave Thomas as the artist for the month of March. Thomas started with graphic design in 1996. Two years later he was introduced to another form of expression known as broadcast design, or motion design. Thomas is now working on a new project where video images are combined in a gallery setting that also displays associated photographic images and digital designs. He resides in Cape Coral with his wife, Catherine, and their four children.

Cape Coral Art League

The Arts of March Student Scholarship show was held March 5. The winners from Cape Coral High School include: Devin Harclerode, first place, “Women and Three Children,” $600; Sienna Mooney, second place, “Silence,” $300; Haley Gentle, third place, “3D Chair,” $150; and Minerva Gutierrez and Ilana Marshall, honorable mentions, $50 each.

The Cape Coral Art League will host its annual Arts of March show throughout the month of March, Monday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. The art exhibited was created by artists belonging to the SW Florida Arts Council. Ferrari Gallery

The Ferrari Gallery showcases Kyle Jackson’s “Ready Made” urban photography, Propagated Spaces. The interior of the gallery is lit by Veron Ennis non-objective abstract photography, Elemental Scapes. FGCU

The Florida Gulf Coast University Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents the “2009 Celebration of the Arts,” a fine art and theater exhibition, on Wednesday at the Arts Complex. Juried student art show opens at 4 p.m. Theater lab’s production “TL001: A Performance Constellation” opens at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend an evening of the arts with food and music, including senior art exhibits. Performances are Wednesday-April 5, April 8-10 and April 15-18. Curtain opens at 8 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 590-7268.

Lee County Alliance of the Arts

Students from elementary to high school will display their work at the Lee County Alliance of the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. An opening reception for elementary and middle school students will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. A high school reception will follow.

The Alliance for the Arts will host the 6th Annual Angels of the Arts Awards Ceremony on Monday at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. The event honors artists, arts organizations and arts supporters who contribute to the vitality of the arts and culture in Lee County. Bill Wood from the Fox 4 Morning Blend and guest presenters will announce the winners. Reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Awards ceremony starts at 7 p.m. For tickets or information call 939-ARTS (2787).
