LeeWay mini transponders become available

1 min read

A new sticker transponder called LeeWay Mini will become available to LeeWay customers April 1. The new transponder uses backscatter technology and does not require a battery for operation. It must be adhered to the windshield for the device to read. The LeeWay Mini transponder also has a theft security feature – tearing the transponder off the windshield renders it inoperable and so theft is undesirable and ineffective.

LeeWay in conjunction with SunPass and E Pass, have upgraded their existing hardware and software in the toll lanes to read both the current hard case transponder and the new sticker transponder.

The cost of the LeeWay Mini transponder will be $10 ($9.43 plus $0.57 tax) making it a more affordable option for customers. The cost of the hard case transponder will no longer be subsidized by LeeWay and will increase to $32 ($30.19 plus $1.81 tax).
