Tatalomo’s Nurses Registry will provide free blood pressure and blood sugar clinics on the third Monday of each month at 9 a.m. at Lake Kennedy Senior Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. For information, call 574-0575.
Fort Myers
NAMI
Support groups and classes are provided by NAMI Lee County free of charge.
NAMI Connection is a support group for adults who have been diagnosed with any mental illness. Meetings are:
– Monday at Lee Memorial Hospital in Room 2 from 6-7 p.m.
– Tuesday at Lee Mental Health, Ruth Cooper Campus, 2780 Ortiz Ave., Building F, Fort Myers, from 6-7:30 p.m.
– Thursday at United Way House, 1105 Cultural Parkway
Family in Family Courses are for loved ones of those diagnosed with a mental illness. Taught three to four times per year, they are held in various areas of Lee County. Contact the main office for details, times and locations.
Peer to Peer Course is for persons with a diagnosis of any mental illness. Taught three to four times per year, they are held in various areas of Lee County. Contact the main office for details, times and locations.
Putting the Pieces Together is a support group for loved ones of adolescents who have been diagnosed with a mental illness. Meetings held from 6-8 p.m. at Riverside Church 8660 Daniels Parkway, Main Building.
Healthy Start
Healthy Start helps ensure that moms and babies have access to needed medical care and other community services to help give each baby a healthy start in life. Each year, Healthy Start serves more than 18,000 pregnant women babies and young children under the age of 3, who are at high risk for poor health outcomes. Rainbow Trails
Rainbow Trails, the Hope Hospice bereavement camp for children, needs male counselors to work with boys between the ages of 6 and 16.
The camp will be held in Ellenton June 5-7. Bus transportation from Fort Myers is provided for the entire group.
Each counselor will be responsible for three boys. Duties may include supervision during recreation activities, entertainment and meals, and making sure the boys are accounted for each night.
All applicants will undergo a police background check. They also must attend three training sessions on April 27, May 4 and May 11 from 5-7 p.m. as well as the entire weekend of camp.

Mel’s Diner, 95.3 OLZ host benefit auction
Mel’s Diner will be sponsoring the Boston Red Sox’s last game of the spring season versus the Tampa Rays at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday.
The game is already sold out and proceeds from the auction on Clear Channel Radio’s 95.3 OLZ will benefit Helping Kids With Cancer. The on-air auction continues through Friday.
It features a chance for two to serve as bat and/or ball persons – each winner gets two additional tickets for friends or family members to the game in Mel’s Diner’s suite, including food and beverages, and 15 pairs of tickets to the game in the suite, including lunch and beverages throughout the game.

Free workshop for back pain sufferers
A free workshop for chronic back pain sufferers will be offered at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampton Inn in Cape Coral.
Dr. James Zuk and the Spinal Aid Centers of America will introduce a medical discovery that rids back pain without drugs or surgery and it is painless.
The method is fully approved by the FDA and research from the American Journal of Pain Management reported that an 86 percent success rate with cases of herniated and bulging discs, sciatic, stenosis, degeneration and facet arthosis.
No fee to attend, but those interested must call 540-7100 to register and reserve a seat.
