Cape fire chief to speak
The Cape Coral Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. today at Cape Coral Yacht Club.
Cape Coral Fire Chief Bill Van Helden is the keynote speaker. Van Helden is in the process of reorganizing the department in an effort to cut costs. Find out what he is facing and his common sense approach to meeting the shortfall.
The latest to surface at last Monday’s city council meeting was a request for more information on fire assessments as opposed to ad valorem taxes. Possibly learn more about the proposed budget item.
Civic meetings are provided free of charge as a public service to the community. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
