Annual Evening with the Red Sox
The Crowne Plaza Hotel is proud to announce it will host the 4th annual Evening with the Red Sox, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. The event will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 13051 Bell Tower Drive, Fort Myers. The event is open to the public and will include a live auction featuring four tickets to a 2009 Red Sox vs. Yankee game weekend, with tickets on the ‘Green Monster’ and on-field experience at Fenway Park. A silent auction also will be held including Red Sox memorabilia, regular season game packages, vacation packages, local golf and restaurant experiences and more. Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest
The Southwest Florida Wine & Food Fest will be held Friday and Saturday to benefit children’s charities. The chefs will join 16 wineries and wine distributors for the event, which features Chef Vintner dinners at select homes Friday and a grand tasting and auction for the public Saturday afternoon at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club in Estero. Young Chicks, Old Bags purse auction

FORE the Children
Children’s Home Society of Florida and Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida are teaming up to present FORE the Children Charity Golf Invitational on April 21 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Myers. With help from community volunteers, including event chair Paul Kindred, vice president of Gartner, the golf scramble begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start and includes continental breakfast, lunch, prizes and more. Registration is $85 per individual or $300 per foursome. Sponsorships are available. Children’s Home Society of Florida and Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida, United Way partner agencies, collaborate to serve children and teens in foster care and joined fund-raising forces to help effectively meet area needs.
