Cape Coral

Juniper Village looking for talented young people

On Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m. Juniper Village at Cape Coral will host a “Kids Kabaret” performance. The assisted living community will celebrate all those who have a special talent for the entire month of March. Area youth (elementary school through college age) who would like to come and perform their talent are asked to call Eileyn Sobeck-Bador, Community Relations Director,and register for the free event. Juniper Village at Cape Coral is located at 4920 Viceroy Court.

Drug House Odyssey

The Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida needs volunteers, age 18 and up, to help with this year’s Drug House Odyssey.

Volunteers are needed March 24, 25 and 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Drug House Odyssey will be held at Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Boulevard South.

CHADD

CHADD is the nation’s leading non-profit organization serving people of all ages affected by Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD).

CHADD of Lee County is a local chapter of the national organization. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month (excluding November) from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lee Memorial Hospital Auditorium, 2776 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers.

Autism

A lecture and panel discussion will be held Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. A discussion on Autism: how to begin after a diagnosis, what to add to existing treatments, and how to stay inspired.

LARC

LARC, Inc. is in need of a volunteer with bookkeeping experience. The volunteer will be responsible for the reconciliation of bank statements, reviewing receipts, entries to check log, balances

and informing management of discrepancies. The time frame is once a month and volunteer can work at LARC. Must be at least college age. The volunteer would need to pass a background report, have excellent references, be trustworthy,

Artist shares talent with abused children

Fort Myers artist, Marion Robbins, will share his talent and time with abused children. On Feb. 21, between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. he will be painting a mural at the Children’s Advocacy Center’s new home located at 3830 Evans Ave. Robbins and the Junior League have teamed up on this project in support children who have been neglected or abused.
