Broadway Palm announces auditions

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre is holding open auditions for adults and children for Peter Pan and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe on Saturday, Feb. 28. Ages 8 to 14 will audition from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ages 15 and up will audition from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up sheet will be available at 10:30 a.m. No appointments will be taken.

The following are the productions and roles that are available:

*Peter Pan, plays June 11 – Aug. 8. Rehearsals: May 28 – June 10.

Casting the roles of:

1. Lost Boys, Male Pirates and Male and Female Indians ages 12 to adult.

2. Michael age 8 to 11

3. John age 11 to 15

4. Wendy 15 to adult

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, plays selected performances April 24 May 31. Rehearsals: April 10 23.

Casting Strong Singer/Actors for the roles of:

1. Peter age 18 to 20

2. Susan age 15 to 17

3. Lucy age 10 to 14

4. Edmond age 10 to 14

Anyone interested in auditioning should bring a current headshot and resume and be prepared to sing 16 bars. Please bring sheet music in the proper key, an accompanist will be provided (no audio tapes, please). Actors/Actresses may be asked to attend a dance and/or reading audition after the singing audition.

Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre is a professional theater. All roles are paid positions. Broadway Palm productions require a two-week rehearsal process as well as daytime and evening rehearsals. Anyone interested must be available for the two-week rehearsal process and all performances. During the rehearsal process, Broadway Palm will work around student’s school schedules as much as possible, but they must be available for all performances, matinees and evenings. Peter Pan performances are Wednesday through Sunday Evenings with selected matinees on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe performances are selected matinees Tuesday through Sunday.
