Senior Friendship Centers
Senior Friendship Centers is seeking an administrative assistant to help with the health and wellness program in North Fort Myers or to assist at the main office in Fort Myers. Some duties include answering the phone, scheduling appointments, collection of patient fees, filing, copying, organizing patient files, ordering supplies and equipment, and greeting patients. Similar skills are needed for the main office including contact with clients. Bilingual is a plus. For information, call Cathy at 275-1881.
9th Annual Reading Festival
Volunteers are needed for the 9th Annual Reading Festival on March 25 at Centennial Park in Fort Myers. Opportunities are available for setup the day before and assistance during the daylong event, as well as clean up after the event is over. For information, call Catherine Vaughn at 533-4815.
Local Advocacy Council, Area 15
The Local Advocacy Council, Area 15, consists of volunteers appointed by the governor to review and investigate situations stemming from complaints and to monitor services provided by the Florida Department of Children and Families to oversee and investigate the quality of the services provided. Area 15 currently has three councils for mental health, developmental disabilities and multi-program, which include all types of complaints from child welfare issues for children in foster care, day care and under protective supervision.
