The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library, 921 S.W. 39th Terrace, presents the following free activities and programs for the month of February:

Adults

– Tuesday, Feb. 17 and 24: Practice English with English Cafe, a free informal conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students, at 6:30 p.m.

– Thursday: Guitar Music of the 40s, 50s and 60s at 2 p.m. Take a walk down memory lane with guitarist David Kilbride as he plays music. Registration requested.

– Friday, Feb. 13, 20 and 27: Practice English with English Cafe, a free informal conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students, at 10 a.m.

– Monday and Feb. 23: Craft Corner on knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching at 3:30 p.m. Materials provided or bring a project to work on. Registration requested.

– Feb. 18: Book discussion on Dennis Lehane’s “The Given Day” at 2 p.m. A flu epidemic is decimating Boston and the police department is on strike.

– Feb. 24: Bagels, Books and Banter at 9:30 a.m. Talk about a favorite book. Registration requested.

– Feb. 24: Master Gardeners on “Growing and Using Herbs” at 2 p.m. Let Lee County master gardeners help start or maintain a Florida herb garden. Registration requested.

– Feb. 28: Craft Corner on scrapbooking at 10 a.m. Bring photos and share ideas for pages. Registration required.

Children

– Today, Thursday, Wednesday, Feb. 12, 18 and 19: Preschool Storytime at 11 a.m. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 5, attend the storytime independently while parents or caregivers wait nearby in the library building. Registration required.

– Tuesday and Feb. 17: Family Storytime for the whole family at 9:30 a.m. Lasts about 30 minutes. Registration required.

– Wednesday and Feb. 18: Family Storytime for the whole family at 10:15 a.m. Lasts about 30 minutes. Registration required.

– Thursday, Feb. 12 and 19: Family Storytime for the whole family at 10:15 a.m. Lasts about 30 minutes. Registration required.

– Thursday, Feb. 12 and 19: Toddler Storytime at 9:30 a.m. For children 2 years old and their caregivers. Lasts about 30 minutes. Registration required.

– Thursday: Anime Club at 5:30 p.m. Join a group of teens with an interest in anime, manga and other interesting aspects of Japanese culture. Registration required.

– Saturday, Feb. 14 and 21: Baby-Parent Rhyme Time at 10 a.m. For infants, up to 24 months accompanied by an adult, a 20-minute program. Registration required.

– Feb. 12 and 26: Kids Read Down Fines at 3:30 p.m. Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during the allotted time in the designated area of the library. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only.

– Feb. 13: Wild Wizard’s Show “Thomas Edison and his inventions” at 4 p.m. For ages 6 and up. Registration required.

– Feb. 16: Kids Read Down Fines at 6:30 p.m. Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during the allotted time in the designated area of the library. Coupons may be applied to cards issued to patrons age 18 and under only.

– Feb. 16: Anansi and the Tree of Life Puppet Show at 11 a.m. Puppeteer Katie Adams presents a collection of African tales using music, storytelling and audience participation. Registration required.

– Feb. 19: Career Opportunities in County Government at 6 p.m. Challenger Middle School students will present information on careers in government and service learning. Registration required.
