Cape Coral Yacht Club

The following programs will be held at the Cape Coral Yacht Club, which is located at 5819 Driftwood Parkway.

– Wednesday, Feb. 4, 4-7 p.m., Sunset Celebration at the beach with live music, Tommy Tunes, over 40 vendors selling their arts and crafts and more. Registration not required, no admission fee.

– Saturday, Feb. 7, artificial lures seminar, 9-11 a.m. Cape resident fee is $20; non-residents, $22. Registration is required.

– Friday, Feb. 13, magnificent magic show for all ages at 6 p.m. The cost is $6 per person with children under 2 fee. Pre-registration or buy tickets at the door.

– Saturday, Feb. 14, Miami boat show bus trip, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Departure from the Cape Coral Yacht Club. The cost is $59 per person and includes entry fee, parking fees, tolls, continental breakfast and refreshments on the bus. Registration is required.

– Saturday, Feb. 21, intermediate saltwater fishing program, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The resident fee is $35, non-residents $39. Registration is required.

– Tuesdays and Thursdays, Zumba from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per class.

Smile, snap and send

Business and Industry Services is offering an introductory class on digital photography, Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the Cape Coral Small Business Develop-ment Center across from Cape Coral City Hall. The class runs from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Call 239-939-6320 for more information.

Rotary Park Environmental Center

The Rotary Park Environmen-tal Center, 5505 Rose Garden Road, presents the following events:

– Feb. 6, 13 and 20, 9:30.-11:30 a.m., wood carving. The cost is $50 for Cape residents, $55 for non-residents.

– Sunday, Feb. 8, 1-4 p.m., Women’s Beauty Bonanza, free for the public, featuring a wide variety of women’s products and services. Door prizes. Call the park office to register, 239-549-4606.

Lake Kennedy Senior Center

– Sharing Life’s Experiences, a new group meeting, will be held on Tuesdays, at 1 p.m., starting today, Feb. 3. The program is free for Lake Kennedy members, $4 for non-members.

– A trip to the Ft. Lauderdale Bonnet House museum and gardens, will be held Friday, Feb. 6. Leave from the center at 8 a.m. (arrive by 7:45), The first stop in Ft. Lauderdale will be lunch at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. The cost is $73 per person for members and $84 per person for non-members. Registration is required.

– Clogging classes are held on Mondays: beginner, 11 a.m.-noon; beginner, noon-1 p.m.; and intermediate, 1-2 p.m. The cost is $6 for members per/all classes; $10 for non-members per/all classes.

– Wednesdays, 1-2:30 p.m., Quickie Jewelry Crafting with Lynda Lea. The first class is $14 per person for members, $18 per person for non-member (supplies included).

– Thursdays, 6-7:30 p.m., new dimensions inline dancing with Aida Pineda. The cost is $3 per person for members and $7 per person for non-members.

Tony Rotino Senior Center

– Family, the general public and senior citizens are invited to join the Rotino Runaways travel to the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre to see “Singing in the Rain,: Wednesday, Feb. 4; departing from the Rotino Center at 11 a.m. The $57 members and $67 non-members cost includes transportation, tour guide, admission, hot buffet luncheon, all taxes and gratuities.

– Sunday, Feb. 8, 5-7 p.m., book discussion with Crime Scene Investigator Lisa Black. The cost is $10 per person. Pre-registration is required.

Knights of Columbus

Knights Of Columbus, Chapter 7131, “Showtime 2009,” continues on Saturday, Feb. 7, with singing trio, Singing Divas, and Chicago comedian Frank Pisani, at 7 p.m., at Cape Coral High School. Donation, $12.

USA Dance

USA Dance Chapter 6049 is holding its tea dance Sunday, Feb. 8, at Rhythm in Motion Dance Academy, located at 3333 Del Prado Blvd.

The affair starts at 4 p.m. with lessons in rumba followed by open dancing from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $8 for members, $10 for non-members. Refreshments are included. Open to the public.

Weave and paint workshop

Weavers of Char-Lee invite the public to a two-day workshop Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 9 and 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Cape Coral Library

Curious about art weaving? Weave a cotton-rag purse or bag on Monday. On Tuesday, paint and stencil the purse, bag or place mat with resist dyes. The cost of instruction, yarn, dyes, loom and workbook is $20.

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates are open all night. The new nighttime program is called Night Lights to celebrate inventor Thomas Edison, his birthday in February and Fort Myers month long lighted celebration called the Edison Festival of Light.
