Cape Christian Fellowship

Cape Coral Turning Point Church of God
The Cape Coral Turning Point Church of God, currently meeting in the Cape Coral Youth Center at 315 S.W. 2nd Ave., will hold a special service on Sunday, Jan. 25. The church will sponsor a Family and Friend Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. with praise/worship, followed by a Children’s Church at 10:30 a.m. in the children’s area and a message in the auditorium by Senior Pastor Dennis West.
Several of the couples and singles have united and placed a co-ed softball team in the Church City League. The ladies of the church meet on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. for Bible study.

Epiphany Episcopal Church
The Southwest Florida chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a member recital on Friday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. The recital will be held at Epiphany Episcopal Church, located at 2507 Del Prado Blvd. South.
The organ at Epiphany is a 19-rank mechanical action tracker, built in 1908 by the German based Heissler company. The theme of the the recital, taking advantage of the design of the organ, will be music from the Baroque era. There will be pieces by Bach, Bruhns, Daquin, Handel, and others. Organists from the area include Sandra Averhart, Claire Marie Faasse, John Fenstermaker, John Geib, Dorothy Hartman, Norman Libby, James Lorenz, and Alena Michel. The public is invited and there is no admission fee. A reception will follow.
Evangelical Presbyterian Church
Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral began the women’s Bible study that will run through March 31, from 9-11 a.m. or 7-9 p.m. on the “Book of Phillipians.”
Women of the Word is a program that brings women in the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith. Women who are mothers are involved in the study, their children have a special program for all ages. The study is done in small groups that become support groups as relationships are developed. The study meets Tuesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. or 7-9 p.m. at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 701 Mohawk Pkwy. There is a complete nursery and children’s program, including homeschoolers. Space is limited for the children’s programs.

Faith Presbyterian Church
Faith Presbyterian Church, 4544 Coronado Pkwy., in Cape Coral is installing a new four manual digital Allen organ. Michael Helman, director of music/organist will play the new Allen for Sunday worship on Jan. 25, at 8:15, 9:30, and 11 a.m.
Two events are scheduled to celebrate the installation of this new instrument. On Friday, Jan. 23, at 7 p.m. the 1925 silent movie “The Phantom of the Opera” will be shown and an improvised organ accompaniment will be provided by organist Paul Fleckenstein. Tickets for this event are $10 and will be available at the door. On Friday, Feb. 6, organist, Diane Bish will present a dedicatory recital at 7:30 p.m.
This concert is open to the public, however, there is limited seating and tickets are required.

First Christian Church
The First Christian Church of Cape Coral will be holding a Yellow Ribbon Rally Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2630 Country Club Blvd. The three services are 8:30, 9:45 and 11:15. Dr. Cecil Todd, leader and president of the world-wide revival Fire Ministry from Branson, Mo., will share his message “Wake Up America: Land That We Love.” All veterans and those in our armed forces will be recognized and honored. Todd will also lead in a pledge to the flag.
A special offering will be received at each service to help provide Bibles for soldiers who are being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. The Bibles are $4 to print.

First Church of God (Anderson Indiana)
The First Church of God of Cape Coral is a growing, multi-cultural place to worship.
Sunday, Jan. 18, a Sunday school for children and adults at 9:30 a.m. and worship service at 10:30 a.m. There is also “Children’s Church.”
Shadavia Jones will open worship with “This is the Day!” Rev. Ron Wamer will bring special guitar and the message, “More than Conquers”
The winter series of gospel music began in January. On the first Sunday of each month a musical group will minister during morning worship service.
The Browns on Feb 1; the Doerfel Family with Bluegrass Gospel on March 1; Last Generation Ministries on April 5.

The Women of the Church of God (WCG) meets at 7 p.m., on the second Tuesday of the month.
Young at Heart is a group for folks 50 and older who meet at noon on the third Thursday of each month. The next meeting will be Jan 22.

Lighthouse Youth Place
Lighthouse Youth Place, a youth outreach project of King’s Way Christian Center, is offering karate classes for Cape Coral youth as an outreach project. LYP meets upstairs at 1323 Viscaya Parkway Cape Coral, above the Nazareth Church. Martial arts classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
All Martial Arts Classes are taught by certificated instructors under the auspices of Zenkoku Yudansha Sekai (International Black Belt Society).

Good Shepherd Church and School
Good Shepherd Church and School is hosting a car show/swap meet/flea market Saturday, Jan. 24, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on the corner of Hancock Bridge Parkway and Orange Grove Boulevard.
Vendors will be on hand selling everything from t-shirts, jewelry to new or used car parts. Sandwiches, snacks, and drinks will be sold. Admission is free.
