Weight loss surgery information session
A session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Cape Coral Hospital Life Center, 656 Del Prado Blvd., for anyone interested in learning more about safe and effective weight loss surgical options
The surgical program is led by bariatric surgeon Moses Shieh of Suncoast Surgical Associates. He is board-certified in general surgery, fellowship trained in bariatric surgery and cosmetic surgery, and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.

Workshop for chronic back pain sufferers
A free workshop for chronic back pain sufferers will be offered at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hampton Inn. Dr. James Zuk and the Spinal Aid Centers of America introduce a medical discovery that rids back pain without drugs or surgery and is painless. There is no fee to attend, but those interested must call 540-7100 to register.

Free sensitivity awareness workshop
A free sensitivity awareness workshop will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Shell Factory/Captain Fishbone’s Restaurant, 2787 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, for anyone interested in relating better to others. Food Addicts Anonymous
Food Addicts Anonymous celebrates 21 years of helping people who struggle with food issues. FAA was founded in December 1987 in West Palm Beach, Fla., by Judith C., who struggled with food issues most of her life until was suggested to her she may be addicted to certain foods.
It is a 12-step fellowship of men and women who are willing to recover from the disease of food addiction. They are self-supporting through their own contributions; there are no dues or fees for FAA membership. They are not affiliated with any diet or weight loss programs.

Yoga series, classes
Yoga, a 12-week series, will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursdays, now through March 26, in the Fiesta Room at Siesta Bay with Debbie Padnuk. Non-residents are welcome. Pet vaccination and microchip ID clinic
A low-cost pet vaccination and microchip ID clinic will be held from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Lee County Animal Services, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers.
For $25, pets will receive an annual cat or dog booster, rabies vaccine and microchip ID. Appointments are not necessary. License fees are as follows:
– One-year license for puppies and kittens under 1 year: $8
– One-year license for sterilized pets: $8
– Three-year license for sterilized pets: $15
– One-year license for unsterilized pets: $35
– Three-year license for unsterilized pets: $65
