The following programs are held at the Cape Coral-Lee County Library.

Mondays

Kids Read Down Fines. Take care of library fines by reading. Children and teens can earn a $2 coupon for every 15 minutes of reading during the allotted time in the designated area of the library; for ages 18 and under. Mondays, Jan. 12 and 26, 6:30 p.m., or Thursdays, Jan. 8 and 22, 3:30 p.m.

Craft corner, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching, 3:30 p.m., Jan. 12 and 26. Materials will be provided, or bring a project to work on . Registration is requested.

Tuesdays

Book bingo, 2 p.m., Jan. 10. Parents are welcome. Registration requested.

Family Story Time, Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m., Jan. 13, 20 and 27. This program is for the whole family. Registration is required.

English Cafe is back this month, 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 13, 20 and 27, and at 10 a.m. on Fridays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30. Practice English in a free, informal conversation session for adult ESOL and ESL students. Each 90-minute session provides adult learners an opportunity to practice speaking English with native speakers

Bagels, books and banter, 9:30 a.m., Jan. 27. Join other book lovers and talk about a favorite book. Registration is requested.

Master Gardeners; natives for wildlife, 2 p.m., Jan. 27

Wednesdays

Anime Club, 5:30 p.m., Jan. 7, for grades 6-12. Share interests in anime, manga and other aspects of Japanese culture. Registration is required.

Book discussion, Jeff Shaara’s “The Steel Wave,” 2 p.m., Jan. 21. A fictionalized account of the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II.

Why does God allow evil – the coexistence of good and evil, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21. Dr. David Jaffin, Judaic/Christian minister, author and lecturer will discuss this question. Registration is required.

Framed at the library, 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 14. Design and make a picture frame for a favorite photo. Shells, jewels, the frame and other supplies will be provided. Registration is required.

Poetry Reading by Dr. David Jaffin, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Preschool Story Time (ages 3, 4 and 5) Wednesday and Thursdays at 11 a.m., Jan. 14, 15 21, 22, 28 and 29

Family Story Time: Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m., Jan. 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29 This program is for the whole family and lasts about 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Thursdays

Toddler Story Time (age 2 with an adult) Thursdays, 9:30 a.m.

Family Story Time, Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29. This program is for the whole family. Registration is requested.

Saturdays

Meditation, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. The public is invited to meet Marcela Lara Romero and Liset Espiau, who will offer an information session to meditation. Registration is required.

Baby/Parent Story Time Saturdays, Jan. 17, 24 and 31, at 10 a.m. Rhyme Time lasts about 20 minutes.

Craft corner, scrapbooking. 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24. The library will provide paper cutters, tape, scissors, corner rounders and ideas. Bring photos and a scrapbook of choice. Registration is required.

Relax with Island Tai Chi; 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31. Join instructor Frank Tuma and his students from the Island Tai Chi Club. Wear comfortable clothing. Registration is required.
